Lima is the capital of Peru and the largest city in the country, being the capital city the place has many places to see and visit, such as the half-day City Tour, which is a tour of the main attractions of the city, as well as also through the main traditional neighborhoods.
Capital Lima is also known as the city of kings and this name dates back to colonial times since it was given during the time of the conquest by the conquistador Francisco Pizarro, for this reason much of the historic center of the city still maintains many colonial-style buildings so we can say that part of its history still lives intact.
By booking this trip, you will be helping provide a special Christmas breakfast for low income children in Cusco.
Our City Tour is intended for all typical of the general public since the journey is made by car moving to each of the attractions, for approximately 4 hours we will discover the main attractions of the Peruvian capital visiting some parks, squares and museums where our guide in charge will be willing to answer all our questions about the place.
Day 1: LIMA – CITY TOUR
In the morning our staff will go through each of the hotels to pick up our clients and we will start our excursion by first visiting the Parque del Amor where we can enjoy the view of part of what is the Pacific Ocean located on the Malecón Cisneros, next to the Villena bridge, in the Miraflores district. Here we will appreciate the sculpture called "El Beso" artistic work of Don Victor Delfin. We will also be able to see the mosaic-style walls displaying love phrases in both Spanish and Quechua (a native language of Peru) as well as names of famous couples in the history of love and many others who helped finance the work. Our tour will continue with a panoramic view of what the Huaca Pucllana is, which was a ceremonial and administrative center during the Inca times that was considered a sacred town, later we will go to the district of San Isidro to visit the Olivar park and see a little the history that our guide told us about the place.
We will continue our city tour heading to the historic center of the capital where we will see the colonial-style buildings, highlighting the Paseo de la Republica, the Government Palace, the Plaza Mayor, Plaza San Martin, the Cathedral among many others.
We will stop at the convent of San Francisco which is considered a sample of religious art in America, in this tour we will have the option of visiting the Choir Room, the library, the sacristy, and the famous catacombs or also known as underground crypts.
To finally finish we will visit the Museum of the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) which has a wide collection and exhibition of objects made of gold, ceramics and textiles from various pre-Columbian cultures, among which stand out the Paracas culture among others.
