Trip introduction
The path of the apu ausangate is one of the most recognized in Cusco and Peru, in this tour we will be able to travel part of the paths of this mountain mixing with the colors of the rainbow mountains of the place and added to this, cross the red valley of the region.
This tour is designed for anyone who wants to know part of the Ausagante but does not have much time to do the full 5-day walk.
For 3 days we will enter the sacred mountains of Cusco, for which the person who chooses this option must be in very good physical condition and have had previous days of acclimatization, since during these days we will be walking most of the time on the 4,500 to 5,000 meters above sea level.

Overview
The 3-day Ausangate trek is different from other treks, mainly because you visit part of what is the highest mountain in the region and also because this trek is one of the most impressive despite not visiting Machu Picchu, or any other. Inca ruin. Throughout the days we will be enjoying natural attractions, which include beautiful glaciers, colorful lakes, llamas and alpacas wildlife and above all the beautiful colorful mountains and, in addition, you will walk through remote Andean towns that still preserve their traditions.
Day 1: CUSCO – TINKI - UPIS – HATUN PUCACOCHA
Our pick up begins at 5 in the morning and we will leave the city of Cusco heading south through small towns for approximately 2 and a half hours, far from the road we will be able to appreciate the imposing Ausangate that will be our destination for the following Three days.
Once in the community of Tinki we will start our walk, throughout the day we will travel approximately 15 kilometers, the first 7 km to the community of Upis being a flat road with the view of Ausangate always in front of us. In this place we will have the option to taste a buffet lunch and in the afternoon we will continue the tour for approximately 2 additional hours crossing the Arapa pass that has a height of 4700 meters above sea level, from here we will already have a view from the Puca Cocha lagoon where we will have a short rest and then continue the tour for an additional hour until we reach our camp located at 4500 meters above sea level where our cooks will organize tea time for us with an impressive view of the Ausangate.
Day 2: HATUN PUCACOCHA – PUCACOCHA PASS – ANANTA PATA - WARMISAYA PASS – SURINECOCHA
After breakfast early in the morning we will leave the camp to continue the ascent for 2 hours to the PucaCocha pass located over 5000 meters above sea level, here we can better visualize the imposing Ausangate snowy peak and the rest of the way to continue until we reach Anantapata where we will have lunch scheduled to be able to taste the buffet lunch by our chef.
In the afternoon we will continue our second ascent to the Warmisaya pass located at 5000 meters above sea level from where you can already see a bit of the rainbow mountain. We descend for approximately 1 hour to our Surinecocha camp located at 4900 meters above sea level.
If you still have energy you can take a walk with our guide to the mountain of colors to see the sunset in the place since the place is only 40 minutes from our camp and when you finish return for dinner and spend the night.
Day 3: SURINECOCHA - RAINBOW MOUNTAIN – RED VALLEY – CUSCO
The big day arrived and for which we will wake up early like the other days to make the most of the day and be one of the first in the mountain of colors, just 45 minutes from the camp is the main viewpoint of the mountain of colors.
We will spend a good time enjoying this gift of nature while the first rays of the sun are projecting the mountain and the colors are becoming more intense, our guide will be giving us all the information of the reason why this place presents these characteristics.
With this tour you will have the opportunity to see the mountain of colors with as few people as possible and make the trip much more special.
To close our expedition with a flourish, we will finish our visit to the mountain of colors but not before exploring the red valley as we go down to meet our team of cooks to finally board our mobility that will return us to Cusco, arriving at approximately 4 pm.WHAT IS INCLUDED FOR THIS TREK?

ARRIVAL IN CUSCO
All our services start at the airport of the city of Cusco where our driver will be waiting for the arrival of your flight to be able to drive you to the hotel of your choice, this service has no additional cost.
For which it is necessary that you provide us with your flight details and confirmation 1 or 2 days before your arrival in the city, our staff will be waiting with the Terra Peru Aventuras sign which you have to locate.
THE BRIEFING
The briefing is the information that is provided to our clients prior to a trip, this will be done one night before the selected activity at the hotel of their stay. In general, the schedule will depend on the other activities that you have planned to carry out, but many times it usually takes place between 6 and 7 at night.
HOW CAN I BOOK THE CHALLENGE AUSANGATE TRAIL 3 DAYS TOUR?
To start a reservation, the first thing we request is your personal data along with the details of the date you would like to do the walk, then we will request an advance payment of 40% of the total value of the walk in order to generate the purchase of the necessary tickets for the tour.
After the deposit, our reservation staff will send you the confirmation of the reservation of the Tour which will include the DATE, NAME OF THE TOUR, PERSONAL DATA OF THE CLIENT, AMOUNT DEPOSITED AND AMOUNT PENDING PAYABLE UPON ARRIVAL IN THE CITY.
Terra Peru Aventuras offers you different payment methods depending on your needs, from bank deposits, transfers via Wester Union, as well as PayPal (consider +8% to the deposit to be made for reasons of bank commissions)
WHEN DO I MAKE THE FINAL PAYMENT OF THE TOUR?
In general, the total payment must be made upon arrival, we recommend making the payment in cash, due to commission issues from international banks that may be unfavorable to you in case you want to make a payment with your credit card. Our staff gives you more details about it.
CAN I CHANGE THE DEPARTURE DATE AFTER I HAVE PURCHASED THE TICKETS?
For all our tours with the exception of Machu Picchu, Inca Trail, Salkantay, yes! is possible to modify the date without any cost, this must be communicated to our staff as soon as possible in order to carry out the procedures for the modification with a new date.
WHAT HAPPENS WITH ALTITUDE SICKNESS?
Any good experience will depend on a good physical condition, if you practice any physical activity regularly you should not worry about a possible altitude sickness, however as an additional recommendation we suggest acclimatizing, in this sense you should consider spending at least 3 days to do some walk and 1 day to be able to carry out some activity or cultural tour.
There are medications that could achieve better acclimatization, but since we are not doctors, we suggest you drink plenty of water and coca infusions to achieve better acclimatization.
WHEN THE TOUR ENDS, DO YOU TAKE US TO THE HOTEL?
Everything will depend on the style of travel that you chose. Our clients who travel in a private service have the option of ending the tours at their hotel. However, those who opt for a group tour, our tour ends in the Plaza Regocijo or close to it so that you can walk without any worries to your hotel.
