Trip introduction
If you have more than one day in Arequipa, we recommend you visit the canyon for 2 days where you can visit the place with greater calm and detail and in the same way take advantage of more to learn the secrets of this place. The Colca Canyon has many towns which have many characteristics in its inhabitants that you would surely like to know and learn about.
Our 2-day tour through the Colca Canyon also gives us the alternative of arriving at the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint very early and without the need to get up early as when the one-day visit is made, this will give you greater availability to appreciate the flight of this bird without having to stay up all night and arrive exhausted at the place.
Overview
This tour will give us the option of getting to know this important attraction of the white city of Arequipa in a much more leisurely way and without much haste, arriving at the condor viewpoint early in the morning but without getting up early to do so since we will spend the night in a town nearby, we will know the towns near the place more calmly and we will be able to learn more about how they live and what they do in their day to day thanks to the information that our guide will not provide about the places that we will visit.
Day 1: AREQUIPA - CHIVAY
In the morning hours at approximately 7:30 am. After breakfast at your hotel, our staff will be at the reception for our private mobility to pick you up and start our trip by leaving the Yura highway and bordering the Chachani volcano towards Pampa Cañahuas, which is known as the Aguada Blanca National Reserve and Salinas where it is the natural habitat of South American camelids such as the alpaca, llama among others whose fiber is used to make textiles that are marketed in the city of Arequipa.
We will take advantage of the journey to make a brief stop at the viewpoint of the volcanoes where it will be possible to appreciate part of the western mountain range of the region, after approximately 5 hours we will arrive at the town of Chivay where we can settle in a family lodging and we will have time to have lunch (on their own).
In the afternoon, if you wish, you can enjoy the hot springs whose waters are considered medicinal and their temperatures vary between 35 to 38 degrees, thus giving us the option of relaxing our muscles after the trip.
In the afternoon we will enjoy the thermal baths, whose thermo-medicinal waters range between 35º to 38º Celsius in temperature in the pools.
Already at night we will have a dinner with a folkloric show of the area, we will be able to appreciate some dances of the region whose dancers will wear their typical garments of the area to finally return to the lodging and be able to rest until the next day.
Day 1: CHIVAY - CRUZ DEL CONDOR - CHIVAY - AREQUIPA
At approximately 6 in the morning we will have breakfast at the lodging and then go to the viewpoint of the Cruz del Cóndor, a strategic place to see the fascinating flight of this bird that is considered the largest flying bird in the world whose wings when they are When open, it can measure up to 2 meters long, we will enjoy a prudential time in the place together with our guide, taking the opportunity to take photos and later on our return we will make a few brief stops in the towns of Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque to visit their beautiful churches of colonial style and in the same way in the viewpoints of Antahuillque to know and appreciate the agricultural terraces and the Pre Inca models of the area.
We will continue the return trip to Arequipa but not before having a stop to have lunch and finally we will be back in the white city at approximately 6 in the afternoon.

ARRIVAL IN AREQUIPA
All our services start at the airport in the city of Arequipa where our driver will be waiting for the arrival of your flight to be able to drive you to the hotel of your choice. This service has no additional cost.
For which it is necessary that you provide us with your flight details and confirmation 1 or 2 days before your arrival in the city, our staff will be waiting with the Terra Peru Aventuras sign which you have to locate.
THE BRIEFING
The briefing is the information that is provided to our clients prior to a trip, this will be done one night before the selected activity at the hotel of their stay. In general, the schedule will depend on the other activities that you have planned to carry out, but many times it usually takes place between 6 and 7 at night.
HOW CAN I BOOK THE TOURS IN AREQUIPA?
To start a reservation, the first thing we request is your personal data along with the details of the date you would like to do the walk or trip, then we will request an advance payment of 40% of the total value of the walk in order to generate the purchase of the necessary tickets for the excursion.
After the deposit, our reservation staff will send you the confirmation of the reservation of the Tour which will include the DATE, NAME OF THE TOUR, PERSONAL DATA OF THE CLIENT, AMOUNT DEPOSITED AND AMOUNT PENDING PAYABLE UPON ARRIVAL IN THE CITY.
Terra Peru Aventuras offers you different payment methods depending on your needs, from bank deposits, transfers via Wester Union, as well as PayPal (consider +8% to the deposit to be made for reasons of bank commissions)
WHEN DO I MAKE THE FINAL PAYMENT OF THE TOUR?
In general, the total payment must be made upon arrival, we recommend making the payment in cash, due to commission issues from international banks that may be unfavorable to you in case you want to make a payment with your credit card. Our staff gives you more details about it.
CAN I CHANGE THE DEPARTURE DATE AFTER I HAVE PURCHASED THE TICKETS?
For all our tours with the exception of Machu Picchu, Inca Trail, Salkantay, yes! is possible to modify the date without any cost, this must be communicated to our staff as soon as possible in order to carry out the procedures for the modification with a new date.
WHAT HAPPENS WITH ALTITUDE SICKNESS?
Any good experience will depend on a good physical condition, if you practice any physical activity regularly you should not worry about a possible altitude sickness, however as an additional recommendation we suggest acclimatizing, in this sense you should consider spending at least 3 days to do some walk and 1 day to be able to carry out some activity or cultural walk.
There are medications that could achieve better acclimatization, but since we are not doctors, we suggest you drink plenty of water and coca infusions to achieve better acclimatization.
WHEN THE TOUR ENDS, DO YOU TAKE US TO THE HOTEL?
Everything will depend on the style of travel that you chose. Our clients who travel in a private service have the option of ending the tours at their hotel. However, those who opt for a group tour, our tour ends in the Plaza Regocijo or close to it so that you can walk without any worries to your hotel.
