Trip introduction
With the passing of the years, new magical and charming destinations have been appearing in the Cusco region and one of these is the already famous Humantay Lagoon whose turquoise color at the foot of the Humantay mountain makes this place a space full of mysticism and Andean spirituality. The Andean man considered the lagoons and snow-capped mountains as sources of energy and gifts from Mother Nature. In this sense, being in this place will transport you to another world where it will be just you and the immensity of the mountains.
To get to this magical place we have to take a walk that will allow us to see the famous Salkantay in the distance and surround ourselves with the typical flora and fauna of the place.

Day 1: CUSCO – HUMANTAY LAGOON – CUSCO
Our pick-ups start at 4 in the morning, depending on the location of your Hotel we will go with our transport and then leave the city heading north to the town of Mollepata where after 2 hours of travel we will have a stop where we will take advantage of having breakfast buffet and make use of the bathrooms.
Once breakfast is finished, we will continue the trip by car for an additional time of approximately 1 hour and a half until we reach the small town of SorayPampa, which is located at 3,900 meters above sea level. Throughout this journey we will observe how the geography changes and the landscape becomes a little more arid, typical of the Andean zone of Peru.
Once in SorayPampa, our guide will provide you with detailed information about the place and recommendations to start the walk, which has a total distance of 12 km, with 6 going up and 6 going down. The climb is considered difficult in certain sections due to the steepness of the place, however, everything this is comforted when one is observing the Andean landscape of the place surrounded by snow-capped mountains where the snow-capped Humantay and Salkantay stand out.
The walk uphill lasts approximately 2 hours at a moderate pace, once you arrive at the lagoon you will have more than enough time to enjoy the place taking a break while our guide provides you with information on why this lagoon presents these variations in the colors and why it is so important for the Andean man.
